Attend the District 202 Back to School Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 1. Food trucks, free haircuts, and more than 60 vendors who offer local support for families will be on hand. No entry fee. Attendees are asked to bring food donations for Bags of Hope.

District 202 will host Navigate 360 ALICE training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 29 and July 30 at Ira Jones Middle School, 15320 Wallin Drive. Attendees will include representatives from various police jurisdictions, local school district personnel, and local government agencies, so you may see multiple law enforcement vehicles.

Illinois has updated its lead testing requirements for children age 6 and younger. If your child’s school physical was completed after June 30, 2026, universal lead testing is now required for all preschool, kindergarten and new students age 6 and younger, regardless of where you live.
If your child’s physical was completed on or before June 30, 2026, lead testing requirements may differ based on your Zip Code.

Plainfield Fest is right around the corner!
This year’s celebration will include a special opportunity for children and individuals with special needs to enjoy the carnival before the crowds arrive.
On Friday, July 17, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., the carnival will offer a sensory-friendly hour with slower ride speeds, no flashing lights and quieter surroundings to help create a more comfortable experience for everyone.
Admission to Plainfield Fest during this special hour is free for participating individuals with special needs and their parents/guardians (ride tickets are required).
This year’s Plainfield Fest runs July 17-19.

What a beautiful way to end the school year! Our kindergarten students enjoyed a special outdoor picnic with their families, while our 5th graders celebrated together with their teachers. Smiles, sunshine, and sweet memories made for the perfect second to last day of school!

From glowing underwater art fun and student showcases to activities, T-shirts, and a scavenger hunt, the evening was filled with creativity, laughter, and community.
