Plainfield – Veteran District 202 elementary principal Casey Hartman will take over a key district-wide elementary administrative post next year.
The Lincoln Elementary School principal will be the new Director for Elementary Curriculum and Instruction, replacing Dr. Tammy Sroczynski who is retiring from that role.
The District 202 Board of Education approved the new assignment at its January 23, 2023 regular meeting. He begins on July 1, 2023.
“We are looking forward to having such an experienced and well-respected elementary leader join our team,” said Dr. Paula Sereleas, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
“Mr. Hartman brings strong knowledge of instruction and classroom best practices to the position as well as a very strong relationship with our elementary administrators.”
Hartman began his education career as a fifth-grade teacher in the Naperville 203 school district in 2003.
He came to District 202 in 2008 as an assistant principal and served at Eichelberger, Crystal Lawns, and Walker’s Grove elementary schools until 2012.
Hartman has served as principal at Lincoln Elementary for the past 10 years.
“Mr. Hartman is an excellent professional educator with significant administrative experience. His skills and background will be very important as they take over for a strong elementary leader in Dr. Sroczynski,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Glenn Wood.
